The Theme Parks in Orlando Florida

By Chris Linch

A vacation in Orlando is calling to you. You know the rides will be scream-worthy, the shows will be amazing, and the roving characters will be just as lovable as you remember. What you don't know is that the food will be just as memorable. There are beautiful gourmet restaurants, and even the fast food is carefully designed by chefs. Here are some of the choices available to you.

For a fast meal someplace you can cool down between rides, you can't beat Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom. They have a menu full of Americana, with some nice kosher options. My favorite is the chicken, served with mashed potatoes even better than Mom used to make.

There's also Liberty Tree Tavern, in Liberty Square. Their pot roast and turkey plates are tasty, and the Butter Griddled Pound Cake is the best dessert in the entire Kingdom. On Main Street, make sure to try Tony's Town Square. Sit down, relax, and definitely try the baked ziti.

The Hollywood Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios is lovely, and has a wide range of American cuisine. If Italian is the order of the day, stop by Mama Melrose's Ristorante. And if comfort food with a side of 1950's innocence is more your thing, don't miss the 50's Prime Time Cafe.

You could go anywhere for beef, chicken, burgers, pork, pasta, pizza, and so on, but to see a living rainforest, you have to go to the Rainforest Cafe in the Animal Kingdom. The animatronic animals all come to life when the thunder starts every twenty minutes, and that is what you are really paying for.

The vegetarians of your group will be ecstatic to find the Tusker House buffet, and you will find yourself sneaking bites of their spiced tofu. Epcot has gourmet food from around the world all collected in one park. Their restaurants are very busy due to this, though, and you should call ahead and see if you need reservations. Le Cellier in Canada is the place to go if you're looking for steak. Personally, I think the best food in the park is the fish and chips at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop. Have one friend find you a seat while you wait in the line, and I promise all the waiting and effort will be worth it. - 29977
