Bellagio, The Hotel Of Las Vegas

By Chris Linch

Opening on October 15,'98, Bellagio is one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. It is an AAA Five Diamond award winning hotel and features an eight-acre lake located between the hotel and the strip. The design was inspired by the Lake Como resort of Bellagio in Italy.

Within walking distance from the Mirage, the Imperial Palace, Harrah's, and more, it was built by Las Vegas casino magnate Steve Wynne and later sold to MGM Mirage. It occupies the lot previously home to the Dunes hotel, the corner of Las Vegas Blvd. and Flamingo Dr. It neighbor's Ceasar's Palace, Bally's, and Paris Las Vegas directly across the strip.

More than 2000 colorful hand-blown flowers adorn the ceiling of the lobby. They will be the first thing you see when you walk into the Bellagio and they are simply stunning to look at.

One of the primary aspects of Bellagio is water. Come see the show at Bellagio, called O, which means water in Italian. Marvel at 85 acrobats and swimmers as the perform in and above a 1.5 million gallon tank of water. Also check out the world famous Bellagio fountains, where streams of water dance to classic tunes. Every day hundreds of people line the sidewalk outside the hotel just to see these magnificent streams of water dance!

To see works by Picasso, Monet, and Van Gogh, take a stop by the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. For a little insight, take and audio tour through the massive gallery. Also be sure to visit the conservatory and the Botanical Gardens. These beautiful flowers change according to season and are by far some of the most beautiful you will ever seen.

With limits to suit all gamblers, Bellagio has a huge casino offering all the games you can imagine. There is plenty of shopping to go around at Via Bellagio. There is also a world class spa, several nightclubs, over 20 restaurants for all tastes and budgets including the award-winning Le Cirque, and a spectacular pool. - 29977
