If you want to live in a house you bought from the bank you will want to remodel the kitchen for your own sake. You can replace the dishwasher yourself of call a plumber to this for you. Here are some tips for installing a dishwasher.

Test existing appliance to see if the power is running through it. You want to buy an electrical tester which any hardware store sells. Touch the unit with the tester. If it is powered up the tester will light up and make an alarm noise. If the dishwasher is powered you need to shut off the electric breaker before working on it safely.

Once you switch that off come back and retest the dishwasher with your electrical tester to make sure there is no power running through the appliance. Now you will disconnect the box in the front. Loosen the bolts on the face panel, water will come up but the machine will come out easily. Find the wire nuts at the bottom of the panel and twist them off. Hold onto the wire nuts for when you install the next machine.

Now you can take the wires from the slots from the face panel bottom. They will pull right out. Under the sink you will find the water hose that sends water to the appliance. They used to be copper now they are a braided metal. They are easier to work with and safer. Turn off the water valves to the sink which serves the appliance.

When you remove the old dishwasher you can install the new one following the instructions from the manufacturer. If you are intimidated by any of these steps you can call your Sacramento plumbing experts to help you. - 29977
